Basset Rescue Of the Old
Dominion
BROOD is a Basset Hound Rescue Organization
dedicated to finding homes for needy basset hounds in the state
of Virginia and surrounding areas. Please note that BROOD adopts
dogs to qualified homes in VA, MD, DC, WV and parts of DE and
PA. if you live outside these areas please check our basset links
to find your local rescue organization.
During the year 2007 BROOD
spent over $58,216.90 on vet bills and $25,451.20 on kenneling.
We took in 108, and 117 were placed.
The age of many BROOD dogs is
unknown, as very few come with official records. The estimate
on the dogs is usually the initial estimate given by the receiving
shelter, which may be different from that given at the time of
initial checkup. Different veterinarians may also give different
ages, and those different opinions are sometimes reflected on
the records.

go much faster. If you have not read about BROOD and our adoption
process, please return to the BROOD
home page and visit the appropriate links.
For any of the dogs that we list, check with the
listed adoption coordinator for availability. BROOD's first concern
is to match dogs to adopters whose lifestyle best fit the personality
of the dog. When more than one potential adopter matches, the
dog is placed with the first one that requested that dog. BROOD
requires a house visit with the new owner(s). BROOD will not place
a dog as a surprise "gift".
The following
dogs have been adopted: Martha(A04025055), Stafford Henry(A03981411),
and Iris(1453).
