We suggest you read About Giving Up Your Dog before making any decisions. If veterinary costs are the driving reason for relinquishing your dog, please go to Financial Resources for Veterinary Bills. If you absolutely must surrender your dog, you can:

• Contact another rescue such Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, Homeless Animal Rescue Team, or A Forever Home Rescue Foundation. 
• Additional resources: http://www.paw-rescue.org/others.php.
• Place ads in newspapers or on the internet (e.g. Craigslist)
• Contact your nearest shelter

• Financial Resources for Veterinary Bills (if you feel you have to give up your dog because of veterinary expenses, there are resources that may be able to help)

IT IS AGAINST VIRGINIA LAW FOR RESCUES TO ACCEPT FOUND DOGS OR STRAYS. DOGS FOUND AS STRAYS MUST BE TAKEN TO THE LOCAL SHELTER. BROOD WILL NOT ACCEPT A STRAY DOG UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
