this is the life, y'all

Hi there, y'all. Greetings from Virginia. I am a true Southern Belle now. Although it's Charlottesville, it sure feels like Heaven to me. 

I love my new home and have settled in nicely. I have my own sofa, recliner and queen-size bed in which to sleep and because I love my new Mommie so much I share them with her ... sometimes. I even have taken to watching the big-screen TV some too. 

Life is just about perfect. It's just my new Mommie and me. Since I am a little on the thin side and need to gain a little weight, my Mommie has been giving me special treats - cheeseburgers once a week and a little vanilla ice cream as a bed time snack. Good stuff that vanilla ice cream - real tasty on these hot southern summer nights. 

I have a new Grandma and lots of aunts and uncles I get to see on a regular basis too. I love riding in the car to Grandma's because I know once I get there I will get fried chicken - one of my favorite foods. The only bad thing about my new life is that my Mommie has to go to work every day and I have to stay home alone. (My poor Mommie, I miss her so much when she is gone. I wish she could stay home with me all the time.) 

I don't like it when she leaves me but she tries to make me feel comfortable and secure and she even leaves the radio on for me which usually puts me to sleep. Then before I know it my Mommie is home and we have lunch together - just us girls. Mommie is on a diet so not many good eats from her but she does share her turkey slices with me. 

And guess what - I get to go the salon for a spa day too!! I have my nails done, a full body massage and professional bath. Daily baths and ear cleaning is nice but a girl just needs that extra special attention every once in a while. As I said, life is close to perfect now that I have found my forever home.
