my
name is harrison!
My family adopted me from BROOD. Before I came to live with my forever
family - almost 2 yrs. ago - I didn't travel much. Now we go places and stay in MOTELS. They are great!
It's one big room and we sleep there and eat there and our water bowl is there. But what I like most is they have BIG windows, so I can look outside!
Sometimes when you look outside-like when we went to the BROOD Ramble there are lots of other Bassets right outside my window. That's great!!!!! But the last time we stayed in a Motel I looked and looked outside but no other Bassets were there - just my brother Barney and my sister Cleo.
They got tired of looking for other dogs but I knew if searched long enough I could find one. Dad put some stuff on this thing called a vanity so I decided I better check it out. Yes, I put my front paws on this vanity thing and sure enough I was right, there was a Basset looking right back at me - we both growled at the same time and I got down
'cause he scared me. I tried again and you know what I must have scared him as much as he scared me 'cause this time when I looked at him he was wagging his tail, just like me. He looked like he was feeling happy and friendly just like me. He even looked just like me (he was quite handsome). I was excited to play with him and you know what - he was just as excited to play with me too! We made our little "let's play" sounds at each other for awhile but he never came into my room to play!
Finally after Mom
and Dad stopped laughing they said, " Get down you silly hound, that's your reflection in the
mirror". I still don't know what a mirror is but next time we stay in a motel, I'm going to look for him again. Maybe if I'm lucky
- he'll be there too!
