a
fitting koda
We had decided to not get another hound.
After all we had Daisy who was just over a year old and she was growing up getting a whole lot more responsible, yep, we had
definitely decided NO MORE dogs, but then I found BROOD. I searched every day looking for what I thought might be the RIGHT dog for our family. We knew we wanted a boy, but not just any boy a special boy that could put up with our little Daisy.
Days turned into months and then one day it
happened, I found Koda. My husband and I were getting our four kids ready to fly to Florida for our annual
"let's go visit the grandparents" trip. I remember sending him Koda's picture and saying, "Honey, let's just go look at him", my husband knows me better than anybody in this world and knows there is no such thing as me "just looking" at a basset. My husband, being the wonderful, soft hearted man he is said, we will go "see" the dog after we get back from Florida.
We came home on a Saturday at 1am in the morning and immediately got in the car first thing Sunday morning and drove over
two hours just to "see" Koda. It was love at first sight. WE knew that we loved him from the moment we saw him on the BROOD website, but did not know that we would learn to love him as much as we do know.
Koda has brought so much love to our home. Both of our bassets are the joy of all of our lives. Koda is so sweet. Everywhere we go somebody wants to take him home with them because of his handsome face and loving personality. When we got Koda he was very thin, but not anymore, our little boy has gained about
seven pounds since coming to live with us.
He still continues to get healthier and sweeter every day. We love him and most of all Daisy loves him. They cuddle together all the time.
Thank you BROOD for being such a wonderful organization, I am so glad we found you and so glad we found our little boy
Koda.
Sincerely,
The Leamy Family
