rufous the mountain goat

Rufous (left) and OliverJust wanted to let you know how well Rufous is doing in his new forever home.  It is hard to believe we have only had him for a few months, it seems like forever. He and his new older brother, Oliver are the best of friends. They run and play together all the time. One of his favorite things to do is sun bath in the backyard.

He did find the a weakness in our fence, but we got him back and have fixed that area. We also checked the entire fence line to make sure there are no other issues.

He is really getting into the affection thing. At first it was like "I don't know what this is but I like it".  Now it is "Don't stop, give me more".  He has picked up weight and you don't see his bones anymore. He even has a "throne". Our recliner with a fleece blanket on it. Fleece is his favorite surface. My son says if we put a fleece on the ceiling he would find a way to lay on it.

We still have to put things - especially food - up high or he likes to chew it up. Although he has found the doggie toy box and has taken just about every toy outside. He loves the pet door and often just sticks his head out to see what is going on.

We also think he is part mountain goat.  He climbs, jumps and leaps like one.  It is truly amazing to see.  All in all this was a great adoption for us.

Thank you so much, BROOD!!
