age is no factor

Samantha is an amazing old lady of 18 years. I have had her over a year and she doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Of course, at her age, she wasn’t very fast to begin with, especially with her wobbly rear end that often collapses under her. But she picks herself up and keeps going (ok, sometimes I help a little). 

She wakes up every morning barking for her breakfast and greets me happily at the door every evening. She uses the doggy door to go out several times a day. I love to watch her slowly ambling around the yard, enjoying the scents and sampling a little grass. She always naps after dinner, but just before bedtime she comes waddling and woofing back to the kitchen, looking for treats. 

Samantha’s a very dear old gal, teaching me how to appreciate life to the very last minute.
