zooby doo!

I was a West Virginia stray taken to the shelter and in danger of being put down. BROOD took me from the shelter and placed me in a foster home in Maryland. I don't recall all the details but somewhere along the line I had pups. The early years weren't good but I wasn't ready to be put to sleep.

I am a very social dog and love almost people, but I am wary of men. I must have been beaten by a man at some time. My forever family adopted me and I moved to Delaware with them. They seemed okay but I wanted to show them who was in charge so I promptly started to eat the furniture and anything else that looked appetizing. After awhile I saw my people were not pleased, so I stopped and tried to do better.

My new people take me everywhere with them. The man takes me on long walks at the beach every day, weather permitting. I do fine until we get too close to the ocean. The wave action scares me but I enjoy racing the waves. My new family had a basset before me and they adopted me to fill the void.

I am not a full basset and have some dachshund mixed in. I think I have the best of both breeds. When asked what breed I am my man says Dashett Hound. They changed my name from Madame X to Zooby. I like Zooby better. After a shaky start I have decided that life is good after all!
